I very much like your view and my own is actually quite similar.
I define what we call consciousness as the ability to interact with the environment in a complex manner. Everything from rocks, to trees, to bacteria, to plants, to animals, to brains and even solar systems are interactive in varying levels of complexity.
It just makes more sense to me if one were to just completely drop the word consciousness altogether because everything you describe in the video are in essence interactions...some simple...some very complex. The way I see it, we do not live in a "conscious" universe, we live in an interactive universe.
Us humans seem to dwell on the word consciousness quite heavily. In my opinion the word itself is the very root of the whole problem. I would be very interested to know your thoughts on this if you can spare the time.
